The Haven was founded in Nassau Bahamas in August 1988 by a group of local Christians who were burdened for the poor and needy and those addicted to Alcohol and Drugs.

From simple beginnings, of just supplying breakfasts, their vision grew to a fully fledged 1 year residential rehabilitation programme with a controlled re-entry back into their families, employment, churches and the community.

The Haven Programme was first housed in an old 5 bedroomed clapboard house situated on a main street in Nassau. The ministry has now been re-established on its own compound secluded from busy city life. The main two story building has been extensively refurbished to accomadate the programme with residential accomadation for 24 Students.

A Multi Purpose Workshop has been built capable of producing products which provides training for the Students and as a self-help measure to off set running costs.

The Haven is a non profit making entity registered with the Bahamaian Government. We are totally supported by public donation and recieve no grants from the Bahamaian Government.
